Complaint

2 things. An official complaint about an Albanian customer service representative I was put through to yesterday, even though it was the uk dept.

She was rude, completely uninterested in helping me with my issue, was disrespectful and frankly, an embarrassment to customer service.

Secondly, and this is the second time I have emailed jeep in less than 24 hours, without even an acknowledgement let alone a response.

Last autumn, my sunroof failed to close. I took it to my jeep service garage who told me that there was debris in the sunroof runners which had blocked the mechanism from closing. This was cleaned out at an extortionate cost. 30 years of owning cars with sunroofs and this is the first time this has happened.

I put in a complaint last year regarding this design fault. No resolution. Yesterday, I reopened the sunroof for the 1st time since the runners were cleaned, probably 4 months, and again the roof failed to close. Again I took it the same garage who said that the same thing had happened and that the runners were blocked with debris.

This is unacceptable and a flaw in design. It should not occur in a closed system. I was told that this was not covered by warranty and that it is a maintenance issue for the owner. I would like to point out that there is no mention in the owners handbook that they are expected to keep the runners of a sunroof clear, and this was certainly not pointed out to me when I purchased my car, which incidentally is less than 2years old and had a factory fitted sunroof.

I asked the engineer what I was supposed to do to resolve this problem and was told that I had to get up to the sunroof runners and clean them out with a blunt stick. I would also point out that I am a 64 yr old women and 5ft2ins in height. I am also awaiting a hip replacement.

If I incur any injury trying to clean these runners out you will be liable and can expect to be sued. On further examination we found that there is a 1cm gap between the top of the roof glass and the rubber seals.

Obviously where the debris collects.

This is entirely unacceptable and I demand a new sunroof be put into my car, at your expense and that it is sealed properly. If this issue is not resolved I will be calling the ombudsman.

I am disgusted with your treatment, your customer service and the outrageous lack of common courtesy, and lack of help.

Sincerely

Salli Deighton

I reported an issue on my Jeep Compass and booked into dealership November 2022, the concern was identified to solve the problem the vehicle needed a replacement Sensor.

I am still waiting for the issues to be resolved. I was advised by the dealership they have received the incorrect part.

I have also contacted Customer Service and discussed my concerns, I was informed by Customer Services the part would be delivered. The dealership informed the do not have a date for the part delivery.

My concern is Im of the opinion no one appears interested in addressing my issue and Im also aware the Warranty is due to end and the problem has not been addressed.

MOT failure

Im now on my seventh Jeep ( 2 Cherokees and five Grand Cherokees ) which is a 67 plate Grand Cherokee I took it for its second MOT on the 18th October which resulted in a fail because my indicator on the drivers side wing mirror didnt work, I asked them to fix it for me and he rang to get another one. I then went home and he said he would ring me later He rang me later at home and asked if I was sitting down as the repair has to be a brand new mirror at a cost of £1300,00 plus fitting. All this cost for a LED strip that cant be renewed by itself Im afraid I wont be buying another Jeep and Ive liked them all

Asking question about my Grand Cherokee Night Eagle

Just bought a 3 year old Night Eagle Grand Cherokee. Ive had several jeeps before including 2 new Summits , so I was rather surprised when it lacked a couple of basics that most cars have nowadays, over taking warnings on the wing mirrors , and even the button that you would normally press to close the boot is lacking. ! Cant seem to make contact with Jeep uk and the dealer just shrugged his shoulders ! Not a happy Jeep owner

They will not repair a warranty problem.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have a warranty problem yet so far they have not repaired. Their dealers have seen it on four occasions and have all said that it has to be repair under warranty yet Jeep customer services in Milan won't approve the cost. Where do you go from here. I have tried to contact Jeep in the USA, but have yet not received a reply. Has anyone out there had the same problem?

Jeep UK - 6 weeks in service and the following day the car broke fown
The car was in service for 6 weeks after a small accident. The garage returned it back to me on Thursday and by Friday evening whilst on the way to France all the signes started to turn red.tried the 0800 number from the 24/7 emergency services from the jeep’s website but unfortunately that number doesn’t function. By the time I crossed the Calley the new warning signe came through warning me of the following: please see the pictures: £70.000 worth of headaches!!!!!!

Awful aftercare from Jeep Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
So I brought a Jeep from a well respected Jeep dealership (Horsham, UK) back in 2016. At the time I was really quite happy after all I had a brnd new Jeep, who wouldn’t be. But just after a short while (2/3 weeks) I noticed there to be mould on both the front window seals, (intact it was a whole lot of mould!) after looking at this mound I actually began to see more and more so I rang the dealership which they reluctantly arranged for the car to be brought back in so that they could see it for themselves, after driving for almost an hour to get there they told me it was mould (as I had told them already) and that they could power wash my windows and my window seals and that would BLAST the mound away. Yes you heard that right! And so like anyone else would do refused that offer and made them order NEW seals as I did not want my brand new car blasted with anything. They then reluctantly a time when I could bring the car back in as they said they had to wait for the seals to arrive from another country. As you can imagine this took some time but after about 4 weeks the seals (apparently) had arrived and I booked my car in with them. As I got to the garage I noticed that all the seals were also mouldy! So I told them that I wanted it to be sorted, again the after care service were awful with there approach to customer care. When I brought my car home having the seals replaced I began to notice also notice that RUST had appeared on and all around the car. The garage told me it was fall out rust and I must of made it happen! But the car was only 2/3 months old! How could that happen so fast, and I really didn’t park anywhere for this to happen! Anyway the garage didn’t really care and nor did the aftercare service over the phone. As I got quite annoyed over the phone the mechanic that fitted my seals told me over Facebook that he had done me a favour by blasting my seals for me when there were mould on them! So basically he lied to me! He even made me wait for over a month for the supposed seals and then just jet washed them anyway against my wishes! I was dumbfounded. Of course I do not wish my car to return to them. Then after a year and half I got into my car, I opened the sunroof and to my surprise it wouldn’t close. So I called the Jeep assist out which actually took a really long time (over 2 hours) to which he actually temporarily fixed the roof problem but the blind underneath kept opening by itself. And he told me that it was temporary and he had not fixed it fully, the roof could still open and close by itself and he wasn’t certain if it would just do it without the controls being touched. Now if any part of the car is open, you cannot lock the doors as the central locking system doesn’t work. So now I do not have a car, I cannot use this car at all because my insurance is invailed as they will not cover a car which does not lock (of course they won’t) so I asked Jeep if they could ‘recover’ the car because of this issue, and because of the fact that I cannot use this car could I have, in the interim period a hire car, maybe just a local hire company or something that can help me get to and from work. They’ve just keep saying the same thing, because my cars engine is still running then I can still take it in. The problem I have is that my closest Jeep dealership is in Guildford and it could take up to two hours to get there because of the route I would need to take, this means I cannot for any reason pull over if needed, which of course is dangerous and is not something really I am okay with. But Jeep still insists that that’s what I need to do in order for my car to be fixed. EVEN WHEN IM TELLING THEM ITS UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS! They asked me what they can do and so each and every time I tell them the same thing, get a manager to sign off a hire car and then get the Jeep Assist to take it to Guildford where they will fix it. Time and time again they tell me that this isn’t something they are willing to do for me. EVEN THOUGH IT’S DANGEROUS! And my insurance would be invailed. I then asked them if I took the car into Guildford would they be willing to accept responsibility for the car if it got broken into or the roof opened and it rained and once AGAIN they told no that they could accept no responsibility for my car whilst I drive it to and from the dealership and that’s what my insurance is for!!!!!! But my insurance WILL NOT cover me without the car locking! As crazy as this is, this is honestly my story! DO NOT buy a Jeep you WILL regret it!
